SEA CHANGE SUSSEX HAS BEEN WORKING WITH THE COUNTY AND DISTRICT COUNCILS TO DEVELOP THE SOVEREIGN HARBOUR INNOVATION PARK IN ORDER TO PROVIDE AN ECONOMIC BOOST TO THE AREA BY PROVIDING HIGH QUALITY EMPLOYMENT SPACE.
This scheme provides flexible accommodation over three floors in simple blocks either side of a central shared circulation atrium space. Tenants are able to let a space from 60m2 up to 420m2 as column free space with high soffits and raised floor servicing.
This site is the largest of the land parcels that were designated in the Supplementary Planning Document, published by Eastbourne Borough Council, to reinforce the need for local employment opportunities. The building is situated alongside Pevensey Bay Road with housing between it and the English Channel.
A simple limited palette of materials is used - dark grey shiplap cladding; a splitface masonry blockwork plinth and standing seam clading to cores. External escape staircases are sheltered by mitred louvre screens. The building benefits from natural ventilation throughout and utilises a number of sustainable, low-energy features.
