AN INTERIOR REFURBISHMENT OF AN EXISTING COMPUTING SCIENCE SUITE TO UPGRADE THE INTERIOR WITH AN OPEN PLAN TEACHING ROOM TO ACCOMMODATE 72 COMPUTING UNDERGRADUATES.
Computing Science required a full refurbishment of their computing suite, involving a full strip out of all services and floor and ceiling finishes. We developed a reconfigured layout with a central wave desk and corresponding wave of feature ceiling panels overhead, performing the dual function of carrying feature lighting and absorbing sound. This maximises the number of students but in a layout that is neither uniform nor dull. The interior design is brightly coloured and contemporary, selected from the framework finishes range. We developed a feature wall design with the graphics department of the digital wall paper supplier to feature a line mural of the city of Glasgow. This enhances the already stunning views of the city from the 6th floor windows.
