AHR has signed the UK Architects Declare Climate and Biodiversity Emergency.
Together with the other guarantors, we seek to raise awareness, advocate for faster change and share knowledge and research to strengthen our working practices and create architecture and places that encourage positive change and protect our environment.
For everyone working throughout the built environment, meeting the needs of our society without breaching the earth’s environmental boundaries will require continuous, collaborative and intelligent improvement and innovation to create responsible and healthy buildings and spaces that leave the world better than we found it.
When creating or caring for buildings and spaces, every project counts. Through a range of methods and initiatives we seek to leave the world better than we found it, with responsible and healthy places.
At our practice, we are problem-solvers by nature. We are often faced with complex challenges throughout the lifecycle of projects that require tailor-made solutions.
The current environmental crisis is both a macro and micro issue in today’s built environment. With increasing demands of across sectors of creating more homes, schools, offices, and regeneration needs, now more than ever must we improve the sustainability credentials.
At AHR, a practice with multiple sectors and services under one roof, we are collaborators and knowledge shares by nature and know first-hand how combining knowledge between different perspectives can help uncover innovative solutions.
Well-designed, responsible buildings and spaces are more than the sum of their parts. Together with our innovation expertise, we will collate data and lessons learnt from all across our projects to increase our understanding of how best to tackle the climate crisis.
How we add value
We have a significant part to play throughout the project in ensuring that buildings and spaces are a positive and healthy addition to the built environment.
Working collaboratively with the project team, we ensure that we always meet and exceed client aspirations, the wider team and community requirements, whilst with our creative experitise, challenge the brief, innovate and encourage the optimum positive solutions for sustainability.
With our expertise in building projects, including Passivhaus, BREEAM, LEED, WELL and DEC, we will embed these principles throughout our design language and bring solutions from across our sectors and services to move the industry forward, faster.
We aim to achieve a long term sustainable solutions for our clients and the wider environment, minimising our projects' footprint through innovative design.
At the heart of our role, we know that building and spaces affects peoples' lives and we need to ensure our designs are futureproofed and desirable to all future generations.
